Description:

The Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repair of commercial kitchen equipment to ensure safe, efficient & uninterrupted operations. The role supports safety compliance & minimizes equipment downtime in kitchens, restaurants & catering facilities.

🛠️ 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Perform preventive & corrective maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment, including:
o Cooking equipment (ovens, ranges, fryers, grills, steamers)
o Refrigeration equipment (chillers, freezers, cold rooms, ice machines)
o Dishwashing equipment
o Food preparation equipment (mixers, slicers, food processors)
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical & gas-related faults & carry out repairs efficiently.
• Inspect equipment & recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper calibration & safe operation per manufacturer specifications.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns & emergency maintenance requests.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports & spare parts logs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety & environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with vendors & suppliers for repairs or spare parts.
• Support installation & commissioning of new equipment.
• Provide basic operational guidance to kitchen staff.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas.

⚠️ 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
• Follow all electrical, gas & mechanical safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations & company standards.
• Use PPE at all times as required.

🎓 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or Refrigeration Engineering (or equivalent).
• Relevant certifications are an advantage.

🧰 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
• 1–5 years of experience in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Experience in hotels, hospitals, catering or restaurants preferred.

💡 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Strong troubleshooting & fault-finding skills.
• Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration & gas systems.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams & schematics.
• Time management, communication & teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends & emergency call-outs.

• Indoor kitchen & plant room environments.
