Sherborne School Jeddah is seeking a proactive, organised and experienced Science Laboratory Technician to join our growing team from August 2026. If you are passionate about science and enjoy creating an environment where curiosity and discovery can thrive, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
- Maintain laboratories to the highest standards of organisation, cleanliness and safety.
- Manage laboratory resources, stock levels and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe laboratory practice.
- Support teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations where appropriate.
- Dispose of chemicals and laboratory waste safely and in accordance with school procedures.
- Assist with the development of practical resources to enhance students' learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A recognised qualification (minimum diploma or bachelor's degree) in a science-related subject such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Laboratory Science.
- Previous experience working as a laboratory technician, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- A sound understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using laboratory equipment and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Good IT skills and the ability to maintain electronic stock records.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written). Arabic language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
