Description:
To lead and manage the technical and engineering coordination processes across all disciplines (architectural, structural, electromechanical - MEP), and to identify and resolve design conflicts and discrepancies during the drawing phase. This ensures the issuance of complete, error-free engineering packages that meet the highest execution standards and code requirements before being handed over to the contractor.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Coordination and Conflict Detection:
Compile and review drawings issued by various departments (architectural, structural, HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, electrical).
Produce composite/overlay drawings to verify the absence of any vertical or horizontal conflicts between utilities and the structure.
Resolving structural and architectural issues related to service routes within shafts and false ceiling passages.
Clearance and Height Control:
Ensuring that the approved clear height is maintained for all spaces and false ceilings.
Aligning duct and cable tray routes with beams and structural projections before approving drawings.
Technical Quality Review:
Ensuring compliance with shop drawing standards and on-site constructability.
Unifying coordinates, base points/origins, and the Xref system for all AutoCAD files across departments.
Managing Revit models and generating conflict reports using Navisworks for BIM-based projects.
Final Approval and Drawing Issuance (IFC Sign-off):
Preparing periodic coordination reports, explaining conflicts to department heads, and guiding them on required modifications.
Granting final signature and approval to plans before their official release to the client or contractor for execution (Issued for Construction - IFC).
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from an accredited university.
Work Experience: At least 7 to 10 years of experience in engineering consulting firms, including at least 3 years as a Technical Coordination Engineer/Technical Office Engineer.
Technical and Personal Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and managing the complex Xref system.
Strong proficiency in Revit Architecture and a good understanding of Navisworks for conflict detection.
