Description:
JOB PURPOSE: The Interior Design Inspector supports the Senior ID Site Architect in supervising interior works on-site. The role ensures all finishes and fit-out comply with approved design intent, specifications, and quality standards. Responsibilities include inspections, coordination with contractors, resolving site issues, and supporting the delivery of high-quality interior outcomes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties
- Lead inspections for ID works as per contract and QA/QC procedures.
- Coordinate with Senior ID Site Architect and sub-consultants.
- Support inspection staff and follow project procedures.
Contract Familiarization
- Review contract requirements and project procedures related to ID supervision.
Pre-Construction Activities
- Verify site set-out and existing conditions.
- Review contractor HSE plans, QA/QC documents, ITPs, and method statements.
Document & Drawing Control
- Use project document control platforms.
- Maintain updated ID drawings and documentation.
Inspection & Quality Control
- Set inspection benchmarks, review mock-ups and materials.
- Conduct inspections, maintain records, and perform off-site checks as needed.
Meetings & Coordination
- Attend QA/QC, progress, technical, and snagging meetings.
- Coordinate with contractor teams to resolve ID issues.
Reporting & Records
- Keep a daily diary; prepare inspection logs, snag lists, and progress reports.
Project Close-Out
- Assist with final inspections and snagging.
- Review as-builts, O&M manuals, and handover documents.
Submittals, RFIs & Observations
- Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and materials.
- Track responses and manage CSOs and NCNs.
Administrative Requirements
- Submit timesheets, maintain contact details, and meet regularly with the line manager.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma/degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15 years of site experience in ID supervision on large/high-end projects.
- Preferred Middle East experience and knowledge of local regulations.
- Proficiency in Aconex, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Office, and snagging tools; Revit is a plus.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and attention to detail.
