Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operations with a clear vision and strategic planning.
  • Ensure alignment with the company’s objectives and overall business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for high-value clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling services.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the business development and attraction of new events including promotional activity related to the venue’s capabilities, standards, and brand.
  • Consistently generate new business through professional networking, industry relations and trade exhibitions.
  • Liaise with external partners including Visit Sunshine Coast (business events unit) and local businesses, including accommodation and transport, to collaborate, attract and secure high value business events for the region.
  • Ensure clients receive a superior level of hospitality and event planning requirements with timely delivery of responses, cost estimates and event outcomes.
  • Ensure that all event requirements are communicated and recognised to achieve high levels of client and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and optimize workflows to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Set clear goals, provide performance feedback, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee large-scale events and exhibitions with attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Maintain quality standards and customer satisfaction in all event-related activities
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and competitors.
  • Develop relationships with industry stakeholders to expand business opportunities.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in event and exhibition management, preferably in leadership roles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Expertise in client and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute revenue strategies.
  • Proficiency in operational planning and resource management.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
