Network & Security Engineer

 Key Responsibilities
Network Operations: Administer and troubleshoot core/access switching (Fortinet FS series), configure VLANs, routing, QoS, and secure SSIDs with 802.1X.
Performance Optimization: Monitor switch ports, uplinks, PoE delivery, and RF health; fine-tune wireless parameters and resolve congestion/latency issues.
Security & Firewall Management: Manage Fortinet HA firewalls, NAT/VPN policies, NAC, rule reviews, firmware upgrades, and vulnerability patches.
Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Investigate SIEM alerts (FortiAnalyzer,etc), conduct RCA, escalate to SOC, and support compliance audits.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain network topology diagrams, backups, SOPs, and ensure alignment with NCA ECC, CIS benchmarks, and client baselines.
Collaboration & Escalation: Work with SOC, systems, and helpdesk teams, participate in CAB meetings, and engage vendor TAC for escalations.
Unified Communications Support: Ensure secure, high-quality connectivity for Cisco CUCM, Webex, and Microsoft Teams environments.
Strategic Planning & Mentorship: Contribute to network/security roadmaps and evaluate new technologies.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience: 7+ years in network engineering & cybersecurity with hands-on roles in enterprise environments.
Certifications (Preferred):
Fortinet NSE 4–7, Cisco CCNP (Enterprise/Security), PCNSE
ITIL® v4 Foundation (Governance/Process)
🛠️ Technical Skills
Expertise in enterprise-class firewalls, switching, wireless, NAC (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto).
Proficiency in IP routing (OSPF/BGP), IPsec/SSL VPN, segmentation, and QoS.
Strong knowledge of security hardening, change management, and configuration backup best practices.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SolarWinds, ManageEngine).
Experience with load balancers F5 LTM and WAF solutions (FortiWeb, F5 ASM).
Knowledge of cloud networking/security is a plus.
