Chief Accountant

Description:

The Chief Accountant / Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations, manage a small accounting team, and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Supervise daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
🔹 Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
🔹 Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and budgets before submission to the head office (UAE).
🔹 Monitor accounting data to identify trends, variances, and improvement areas.
🔹 Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
🔹 Coordinate external and internal audits; ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and financial regulations.
🔹 Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
🔹 Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the accounting team.
🔹 Collaborate with other departments for business planning and forecasting.
🔹 Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local Saudi regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:
🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
🔹 Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
🔹 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the construction industry in Saudi Arabia.
🔹 Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and Zakat/tax regulations in Saudi Arabia.
🔹 Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
🔹 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
