Description:
Load Master is responsible for ensuring that cargo aircraft are loaded and cargo doors for both main & lower-decks, in plane loading system are operated in accordance with, IATA, Safety Regulations, and the company’s policies and procedures.
Job Accountabilities:
- Travel on each cargo flight as/when directed by the direct supervisor.
- Review the load planning/weight and balance documents, check the unit load devices contour to ensure correct preparation.
- Ensure the safe operation of cargo doors and relay on self-operated system of loading to ensure safety.
- Ensure that cargo is loaded within maximum hold, maximum pallets per side limits, maximum zone, weight and maximum cumulative load limit.
- Monitor safe and correct stowage of items of a special nature such as heavy or bulky items, dangerous goods, (ie: flammable/magnetic cargo/radio-activities etc), live animals, perishables and valuable cargo.
- Ensure that cargo is loaded securely and balanced to prevent aircraft from damage inside.
- Regular inspections must be conducted during the flight when transporting special cargo and while the aircraft is in transit to ensure safety.
- Ensure the proper restraint of all unit load devices and bulky and over-size cargo.
- Ensure the security of area outside the cockpit including crew luggage.
- Coordinate with maintenance/flight mechanic in case of any malfunction or damage to the system and report to COCC manager, senior loadmaster and next station with keeping cabin logbook updated.
- Comply with the aircraft limitations/restrictions set by the manufacturer in loading/un-loading function and comply as well with the weight and balance/ground services procedure manual of each aircraft.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor degree Operations Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in the same or similar field.
