Cloud Transition Manager

Description:

We seek a seasoned Cloud Transition Manager to lead large-scale migrations from private to public cloud platforms (primarily Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)). You will design and execute migration strategies, ensure operational continuity, and optimize hybrid cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Migration Leadership:
Develop and execute migration strategies for rehosting, replatforming, and rearchitecting workloads.
Assess private cloud environments for readiness and ensure seamless data/application transitions.
Manage data integrity, system compatibility, and performance during migration.

Private Cloud Oversight:
Transition private cloud operations to managed services, ensuring governance, security, and compliance.
Partner with MSPs for monitoring, patching, and incident resolution.

Project Management:
Lead cross-functional teams (architects, engineers, stakeholders) using Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
Track timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
Liaise between technical teams, vendors, and business units.
Optimize cloud costs (FinOps) and manage budgets with finance/procurement teams.

Continuous Improvement:
Implement monitoring tools for post-migration optimization.
Streamline workflows in hybrid environments and recommend tech advancements.

Requirements:
Technical Skills:
Expertise in private cloud infrastructure (compute/storage/networking) and public cloud platforms (OCI, GCP).
Proficiency with migration tools (GCP Migrate, OCI Data Transfer) and automation (Terraform, Ansible).
Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, VMware, Docker/Kubernetes (preferred).

Project Management:
10+ years in IT infrastructure/cloud migration with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
Agile/Waterfall expertise and fluency in Jira/Trello/MS Project.

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
